| Los Gringos del Tango // Historie und Aktuelles
Jürgen Schwenkglenks, composer, guitarist and percussionist, founded the tango ensemble LOS GRINGOS DEL TANGO in 1997. Its programme reflects a deep passion for Latin American music, in particular the Argentinian tango, milonga and vals as well as Brasilian choros, sambas and traditional rhythms from both countries such as the zamba, chamamé and chacarera. Most of the repertoire consists of compositions by Jürgen Schwenkglenks, arising from numerous journeys to South America and a long-standing association with musicians in Argentina and Brasil. The GRINGOS DEL TANGO have released 3 CDs with the Hamburg-based label "Danza y Movimiento", featuring guitar, accordeon, bass, cello, clarinet and percussion.
